In April this year the Minister of Home Affairs extended the previous temporary blanket extension in respect of the visa, waiver and appeal process that was due to expire on 31 March 2025 to 30 September 2025. The purpose of the latest extension is to address the visa, waiver and appeal outcomes that will not be ready for collection prior to the 31 March 2025 deadline.
This has now been extended for a further period to 31 March 2026 to allow the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) an opportunity toto address the visa, waiver and appeal outcomes which were not be ready for collection prior to the 30 September 2025 deadline.
Foreigners with pending waiver applications, visa applications and visa appeal applications are therefore now safeguarded against adverse consequences until 31 March 2026.
Zimbabwe Exemption Permits Extended
The Minister has also extended the validity of existing Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (ZEP’s) and Lesotho Exemption Permits (LEP’s) for an additional 18 months until 28 May 2027.
