 Annual Wage Increase 2019

As a result of the absence of collective bargaining, it has become customary for the MBA to make recommendations to members in respect of wage increases for hourly paid employees throughout the region.

Wage increases in the Southern Cape Region normally apply from 1 July each year with all other areas taking effect from 1 October.

Port Elizabeth Region (1 Oct)

The MBA has concluded consultations with the trade unions on behalf of a small Voluntary Bargaining Group (VBG) in Port Elizabeth this year and has reached an agreement.

The PE Executive Committee therefore recommends as follows:

All hourly paid employees be given a wage increase of 6% across the board with effect from 1 October 2019.
