We note that the current wave of Covid-19 seems to be abating somewhat especially in the Eastern Cape where the number of active cases has reduced from over 10 000 in early December to just over 5 000. Sadly the Eastern Cape appears to have the highest COVID-19 death toll which is a very concerning trend.
