As an MBA member, the Association you belong to was founded in Port Elizabeth in 1898 when a group of like minded Building Contractors with a common purpose got together to form the association. The main objective at the time was to recruit Skilled Labour from abroad as can be see by reading the Brief History of the MBA

So what's changed?

The MBA has evolved over the lat 125 years into all inclusive voluntary association which provides a wide range of benefits and services to members and the Building Industry at large.

We need the support of our established members to indentify and encourage all eligible Building Contractors and Subcontractors in the specialist various fields to join the association and thereby strengthen our ranks. A strong association is an effective association as it can secure allthe necessary resources to fully and effectively represent its members.

Who can Join ?

Building Contractors, Subcontractors, Builder's Merchants, Building Material Manufactures & Suppliers and Consultants are alll eligible for members, in fact any company that provides goods or services to the Building Industry is eligible for membership of the MBA.

To propose or invite a local company for membership, simply contact them, download & complete the Proposal Form on the right and send it to us and we will do the rest.

Please also send the proposed member a copy of the completed form.
