MBSA warns of construction sector pressures amid global fuel price volatility

The imminent fuel price hikes largely attributed to the conflict in the Middle East are about to make their impact on the Building Industry with fuel prices, both petrol and diesel, set rise dramatically on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026.

The Minister of Employment and Labour has officially announced the new National Minimum Wage (NMW) for South Africa. Effective from 1 March 2026, the statutory minimum wage will increase from R28,79 to R30,23 per hour.

Designated employers have until Thursday, January 15 2026, to submit their annual Employment Equity (EE) Reports.
