With the incredible response to this year's Heath & Safety Mentorship Programme we had to moved the event to the East Cape Taining Conference Centre where almost 120 SMME's attended the first session on 23 July 2026.
Over 70 SMMEs initially registered for the programme which commenced at the East Cape Training Conference Centre on Thursday 23 July 2026 however, through word of mouth, 118 SMME's finally arrived on day one.
A great probem to have we thought!
The programme is designed to assist SMME's with their Health & Safety knowledge as well as compliance with the Construction (Health & Safety) Regulations and is presented annually by the MBA's health & Safety team comprising Laune' Swart, Alec Clarke and Gerhard Olivier.
The programme forms part of the MBA's Health & Safety service, supported by FEM, and comprises of a series of in person workshop sessions covering a range of Health & Safety topics to assist with the understanding and practical implementation of Health & Safety on site.
At the opening session, MBA Director, Greg Steele, encouraged participants to stay the course and see it through to the end in order to secure a certificate of attendance but also, and more importantly, to gain valuable knowledge on Health & Safety, prevent injuries on duty and save lives. We were very pleased to witness the exceptionally high level of interest and enthusiasm of the participants, most of who maintained 100 % attendance thoughout the programme.
